The author, Lian Hmung Sakhong is a recipient of 2007 Martin Luther King Prize, a well respected politician with an active background of life-long struggle for freedom and federalism for Burma. This title portrays the history and culture of the Chin people and the status of their brave struggle for their personal and collective identity. The author has spent most of his adult life engaged in the struggle with the oppressive rulers of Burma for the reinstatement of justice and basic freedoms for his ethnic group, the Chin people, as well as for other Burmese ethnic.
